First Friday: Tattered Treasures April 6, 5pm-8pm $15 per person APTA Members get in FREE!
The Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum is home to the most extensive Victorian era textile and clothing collection in the South! With over 4,000 pieces in our collection, the museum is continuously rotated and staged appropriately for the season. Sadly, many gowns and textiles are too badly damaged to be safely put on display.
Join us for the exhibit opening of Tattered Treasures as we unlock our archives to the public and showcase the shattered and frayed textiles that were once worn by the wealthiest and most prominent citizens in the Mid-South.
These garments were once seen as beautiful works of art! When worn by the elite they made fashion statements at glittering galas and turned heads for a promenade through the park. Delight in our torn and thread bare wardrobe that was once adorned and embellished by the well-to-do. Light refreshments will be served.
Speakeasy Parlor May 12, 7pm-10pm $30 admission includes two complimentary drink tickets
Guys show up in your best suits and Dolls wear your best glam! 1920s attire is encouraged
For entry into the parlor, make sure you are not being followed by anyone as to tip off the whereabouts of the soiree. Discretion is paramount! Please assume an alias. Admission by password only, which will be given upon arrival.
Tour the open mansion staged in 1920s splendor then stroll to the glitzy Carriage House for drinks and hor d'oeuvres while you enjoy musical entertainment by the Side Street Steppers. If rough and grimy is more your style, the Root Cellar is the best place to remain low key as not to attract the fuzz.
Dust off your dancing shoes and enter the Charleston contest!
Tickets are non-refundable and the event will continue rain or shine. For more information please call 901.526.1469 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
